Plant Homes by Sparnicht
Sparnicht is a production pottery studio led by Michelle Sparnicht in Portland, OR. Sparnicht pottery is made from durable, fine porcelain produced locally in Tacoma, Washington and all glazes are made from scratch.
Michelle began working with clay in 2000 at Creative Arts Group in Sierra Madre, CA, and has taken a plethora of city college courses in ceramics in Los Angeles and the Bay Area. Michelle says she is very drawn to the materiality of human culture across time, and the magic of what is handmade. We are simply smitten by her Plant Homes.
What's in a name?
Sparnicht is my family name from Michelle's father. She doesn't speak German, but she tells us Sparnicht means "spare not". It implies spendthrift, but her father likes to mention it means "you don't hold back". We can barely hold ourselves back from buying up all the Sparnicht Plant homes ourselves :)
Measures 4.25 diameter, 4.5” tall.
Each features a drainage hole and a substantial drainage saucer. These things feel amazing in your hands.
